ABOUT VALENTINO

Valentino Groove is a South African independent artist, DJ and producer, and the creative force behind Good Music Records. Based in Gqeberha, Nelson Mandela Bay, he has built a catalogue and a live career on his own terms — releasing independently, performing widely, and steadily pushing his music beyond South African borders to an international audience.

His live work has taken him from club rooms and private stages to the Mandela Bay Theatre Complex and events at Nelson Mandela University, where his sets move between live vocal performance, DJ craft and full band arrangements. That range is the point: Valentino Groove is as comfortable holding a theatre audience as he is running a dancefloor.

Beyond performance, he serves as Chairperson of the Deejays Society, a role that reflects how much of his career has been spent building structures for other artists and DJs, not only for himself. He is also a former radio host at in4radio, an experience that sharpened both his ear and his instinct for how a record connects with a listener.

His music has reached screen audiences too: Beautiful Hair featured on Mzansi Magic's Gqeberha the Empire, placing his sound in front of a national television audience.

Across seven albums, the work has evolved from song-led craft into something broader and more assured — A Song A Dance I and II, Music & Beyond, My Journey Mistory I and II, Simple Songs, and, most recently, UNOLALI as album number seven. Each record marks a different chapter of the same journey: an independent artist documenting his own growth in real time.

The next chapter is MUSIC MACHINE, album number eight. Unlike the first seven, MUSIC MACHINE is built around Valentino Groove playing the instruments himself on the songs — Guitar, Keys, Bass and Drums. Hence the title: one artist operating as the whole machine.

Good Music Records remains the home of the work: artist-owned, independently run, and built for a catalogue that is meant to travel.
